Villa of Vitigliano Position Projects Photo Gallery Informations
THE ESTATE

The estate is placed in the heart of Chianti, in the borderline between Siena and the romantic Florence, an area of great landscape interest. Nowadays it is made up of 85 ha (hectares) of wide ranging typical Tuscan territory, ideal for riding and for hunting.

Approved recovery plan for proposed residential and or touristic-receptive use..

The property includes:
  • Housing estate: about 5500 m2 of total gross area.
  • Farm land, classic DOCG Chianti vineyard, olive grove, wood and arable land for a total area of 77 ha.
Villa and Farm:
The ancient Verezzano’s "posh" house is nowadays in a single compound with the farm. Developed around the tower/dove-cote, the oldest part of the house still maintains the elegant and strict shapes typical of the eighteenth century houses in Chianti area.
The villa has hip-roof, plastered wall, rectangular windows adorned with variously measured and shaped frames, symbols of the transformations occurred with the passing of the time.

Farm and agricultural outbuildings
The rooms of the farm next to the villa are distributed on different levels and include: farmer’s offices, cellars, warehouses, garages. They were built from 1850 on, encompassing the old stables and taking up the hole new building, perpendicularly set to the villa and according to the height difference of the ground. The imposing building has plastered wall.

Chapel
The eighteenth century chapel lies close to the villa. The building has rectangular floor plan and has the covering like a shack, the wall face is trimmed with a moulded framed portal over which there is a rectangular window with the same moulded frame.

Hut – citrus grove and agricultural outbuildings
Next to the chapel, encompassed by the terracing below, you can find a series of building for agricultural use. Originally it existed only the hut with a farmyard and a vegetable garden and that was the only organized green area of the villa. During the following eighteenth century interventions, new terracing walls were built, a ramp of stone and a huge number of agricultural outbuildings were included within the walls.

Farmhouse
The farmhouse with its dovecote is the oldest building, among the ones for agricultural use, existing in Vitigliano. Its shapes are the meeting point between elegance and simplicity and the pitched roof seems to be held up by the not perfectly centred tower. The dovecote is beautified by a mullioned window with capital of boulder. The façades made of stone are “stressed” by small windows with lintels of row stone and pitched drafts. Along the eastern façade there is a portico restored in 1917.
In the north façade, facing the house, between two main doors it is placed an armorial bearings made of stone belonging to the family Verazzano, certainly placed before in another position. Walls show signs of changes happened in past centuries, with evident traces of windows and openings.

Agricultural outbuildings east side
On the east side in front of the ancient farmhouse is located a long longitudinal body in which are placed stable, warehouses and barns built from 1850 onwards and unified in a single building after 1984. Originally there was only a small building used as dunghill. Buildings are made of stone covers like hut and openings of different dimensions according to typical characteristics of agricultural industry of that times.
